Kelly's Bridal Shower

Wow, that is all I can say....Not really, thank you so much to all the girls who helped me with the shower! I had a great set of hostesses, along with myself, to help me with all the intricate details of this shower, and trust me there was quite a few! I think it went over very well and I could not have been happier with the food, turn out, and the cake that my mother and I made! Well Lesley did roll "little balls" LOL ( inside joke), for the cake! Megan, Lesley, Alicia, and I made the cupcakes, all 42 of them, last night. Lesley, my mom, and I started on the cake right afterwards and went until 3 a.m.. We woke up and went straight back to work on everything this morning! I planned to be done with everything early, well that didn't happen! I was running around like a crazy person! Then my mother-in-law and her brother came by to get Cash to take him to the mall while all of this was going on at the house! I have never let anyone take him anywhere, I mean nobody, I cried like a baby worried sick about him! I knew he was in good hands but it was hard to let him go. Dealing with the stress of him and the shower, it was so overwhelming! So, back to the shower (sorry this is going to be a long post), the hostesses were myself, Lesley, Megan, Randi (kell's sis), and Elizabeth, we had a blast planning this whole shower! I custom designed the invites and thanks to Brandon(bphillipsphotography.com) he made it come to life! They were amazing!!! I also painted a plate for her at Firefly, so that it could serve as her "guest book", all the guests signed it and said a few good words of advice! It turned out to be so cute! Then we decided that we would get Thank You cards for her, so everyone that came through the door put their address on a stamped envelope and then at the end we gave them to Kelly! That way all she had to do was write a thank you and drop them in the mail! She loved this idea! Thanks to Lesley's dad for the stamps too! Then, as you probably guessed, her colors were pink and black, so we stuck with that color theme all the way down to the food. On the food table we had boiled shrimp, chocolate covered strawberries, pink punch, spinach dip, cucumber sandwiches(out of this world good), vegetable and fruit trays, pinwheels, and the cake/cupcakes! It looked great! Lastly, I HAD to make favors! I think it is tacky to not give favors and so I thought this to be a necessity! So I made "Lovesicles", they were soap blocks that I melted down, dyed pink, and poured them into popsicle molds. I stuck popsicle sticks in them, let them dry, bought cellophane candy bags to wrap them in, made the sitckers from sticker paper, and tied them off with tulle. I was very happy with the result! All in all, the shower was beautiful, Kelly got a ton of good gifts, and the food was great! Thanks again to all the people who had a hand in helping me with this shower, I couldn't have done it without you!
